four strand braid
Looking for a tutorial on how to make a four strand braid, I came across the blog site Backstrap Weaving, which has two videos and written step-by-step instructions. All are very good and easy to follow. This was my first attempt using a heavy weight crochet thread, but I am thinking that a lighter weight would make a lovely cord for couching onto the surface of a quilt or used as a cord to hang a temari or kimekomi ball.
